• Chat Data: We store messages, timestamps, and peer email addresses that you share during conversations.
• Google Drive Storage: If you enable Drive sync, we store your chat history in your Google Drive's appData folder.
• Local Storage: We use browser localStorage to store theme preferences, user session data, and cached information.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Authenticate your identity and maintain your session
• Store and retrieve your chat messages
• Display your profile information (name, picture) to your conversation peers
• Sync your chat history to Google Drive for backup and persistence
• Improve and personalize your experience

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored in multiple locations:

• Browser Storage: Theme preferences and temporary user data are stored locally in your browser's localStorage.
• Google Drive: Chat history is stored in your personal Google Drive account (appData folder) when you enable sync.
• No Central Server: This is a frontend-only application. We do not maintain a central server that stores your data.

5. Data Sharing

Your data is not shared with third parties except as follows:

• Peer Users: The email address you chat with receives your name, profile picture, and messages you send.
• Google: When you enable Drive sync, your chat history is stored in your personal Google Drive account.

6. Google API Usage

This application uses the following Google APIs:

• Google Identity Services: For authentication and sign-in.
• Google Drive API: For storing and retrieving your chat history (requires explicit consent).
• Google People API: For fetching peer profile information from your Google Contacts (requires explicit consent).

You can revoke access to these APIs at any time from your Google Account Permissions page.

7. Data Retention

Your chat data is retained as long as:

• It remains in your browser's localStorage
• You have synced it to your Google Drive

You can delete your data at any time by clearing your browser data or deleting files from your Google Drive.

8. Security

We implement security measures to protect your information:

• Communication with Google APIs is encrypted (HTTPS)
• Authentication tokens are stored securely and have expiration times
• We use browser APIs to prevent unauthorized access to stored data

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Request deletion of your data (by clearing browser storage or Drive files)
• Revoke access to Google APIs at any time
• Download your data from your Google Drive
